1: Panel Properties
The Panel Properties tab allows you to change general panel settings.
Available fields include:
- Panel Name: Name for your panel. Each project will require you to select the panel you plan to pull sample from by referencing this name.
- Days to Track Activity: Sets the number of days to track panelist response to projects and will be the time frame used for historical response and historical completion rate calculations. This setting can only be adjusted prior to any projects launching with the panel. If this value needs to be changed and there are projects that have been created, contact Technical Support.
- Time to Run Activity Tracking: Set a time on the server that will run daily activity tracking. This feature will configure the panelist response rates and will save this number for display throughout Panel Management. It is recommended that this be run during off-peak hours when activity is at it's lowest.
- Panel Support Email: Specifies the email address to which test emails are sent to.
- Domain Name: Specifies a domain to use for this panel. For example, if you have multiple panels and they are not associated with each other, separating them by domain can be done through this.
- Default Project/Campaign Points: Set the default point score for completed, profiled, and overquota surveys. This value can be adjusted on a project by project basis.

Panelist identifier settings: These settings allow you to define rules for how panelist identifiers are generated. Changes will only affect new panelists. Existing panelists and their identifiers are not changed.
-
Type: Chose between numeric and alphanumeric (default). Alphanumeric identifiers are reccomended, because of the greater number of values that can be generated.
Note: Numeric identifiers are not zero padded. Their length will vary depending on the selected minimum and maximum.
- Prefix: For alphanumeric identifiers, add a specific prefix to the identifier. Default: empty
- Length (without prefix): For alphanumeric identifiers, select the desired length of the random portion of the identifier (7 - 55 characters). Default: 16
- Minimum: For numeric identifiers, select the lower boundary to generate new identifiers with.
- Maximum: For numeric identifiers, select the upper boundary to generate new identifiers with.
-
- Enable Expire Points: Enable and disable if points expire in this panel. Points expire based on the awarded date. Panelists cannot redeem rewards using expired points.
- Opt out inactive panelists: This feature turned on, will opt-out all panelists that have not participated within the specified amount of days. "Participation" includes the 3 completion states as well as starting a survey (but not completed). This includes panelists that have never participated as well - for those, their join date is used. The first wave of opt-outs will happen 24 hours from when the feature was enabled. The minimum value for the number of inactive days is 1.
-
Points Active (Days): Controls the number of days panelists points will be active. When points are active, panelists will be able to redeem the points. Only available if Enable Expire Points is marked Yes.
Note: When a new value is saved for Points Active (Days), panelists points beyond the specified period are expired.
-
Enable Decipher Signed Links: Enables and disables signed Forsta Surveys links for this panel. Signed links helps prevent link alteration. Once enabled, panelists will be redirected to the signed links. If the signed link is unavailable, panelists will be redirected to the unsigned link. This feature affects all Forsta Surveys links in this panel.
-
Decipher API Key: The API key needed to retrieve signed links from Forsta Surveys.
Note: The signed links feature should be configured on your Decipher instance before enabling it in this panel.
